Watts Burks is originally from Bedford, Virginia. He graduated from Furman University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. He received his Juris Doctor degree from Washington and Lee University. During law school he worked as a student caseworker in the Administrative Litigation Clinic helping coal miners file claims for Black Lung disease benefits, and served as a Teaching Assistant to Professor David Eggert. Before joining the firm, Watts interned and clerked for the Hon. Charles L. Ricketts, III in the Twenty-fifth Judicial Circuit of Virginia in Staunton and Waynesboro.
Watts focuses his practice on the representation of local government entities and political subdivisions. He also has experience representing clients in a variety of civil litigation contexts.
