Estate Administration

Estate Administration

Estate and trust administration involves probate of wills, collecting and assembling assets, preparation and filing of inventories, preparation and filing of accountings, use of post-mortem strategies to achieve tax and nontax objectives, and knowledge of the Internal Revenue Code, such as provisions for special valuation opportunities and installment tax payments that can mitigate the impact of transfer taxes.

We have supervised the myriad of issues related to estate administration, including a million dollar dispute with a major hospital involving insurance benefits, median coverage and residual charges arising from an organ transplant and a long and complicated last illness of a decedent; estate tax accounting issues which have been prosecuted at all levels including the local IRS office up to the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals. Most important of all, we offer caring and concerned treatment of family and beneficiaries.
